sonnet eighty eight

leaning to the axis of your
incandescent smile, my eyes
gauge the distance of
unspoken words that

reside within your poetry,
of hurdles you overcome
to stare right into my
eyes - a burning, dispersing,

emerging clarity that
sought to quiet, once, of
the abstract, of the undefined,

of the unmarked points
that held your effervescence,
and your lightness.
