sonnet sixty seven

let me slip into
the night, into your
dreams, between your sheets,
within your embrace –

the silence that hold
my laughter and the
sound my heart makes
when it beats for you

the taunted, timid ember
glowing like an
impervious sunset,

clashing with the peaceful
sky, the colors unable to
contain its fire.
